St. Kitts and Nevis, officially known as the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis, is a two-island nation located in the Caribbean Sea. It is the smallest country in the Western Hemisphere both in terms of land area and population. They are located in the West Indies, near the northern end of the Lesser Antilles archipelago. Saint Kitts (also known as Saint Christopher) is the larger of the two islands, while Nevis is smaller and lies to the south-southeast of Saint Kitts. These islands are well known for the beautiful forests, beaches, and Mount Liamguia volcano. There are many activities including snorkeling!

Snorkeling Excursion

Our accommodation was on St. Kitts at the Marriott Beach Club (Amazing Stay at St. Kitt’s Marriott Beach Club). We chose to take a Snorkeling Booze Cruise to Nevis. They picked us up at the resort and brought us to the docks for boarding. The boat was beautiful and had roughly 20-25 people. They played music throughout the ride and let the drinks flow. Once at the snorkeling area, they gave us our gear and noodles if you wanted one. A lot of people (including Ross) jumped off the boat. I chose to use the stairs. They gave us around an hour to float around. There were a ton of fish and the water was so clear. A bit aways from where we stopped, there was a shipwreck area that people were swimming to. Ross even found a dinglehopper in the water!

Back on the boat , they provided a huge buffet that included chips, chicken, and cooked veggies. It was delicious and so good after swimming. They stopped near Nevis and we all got to go swim on the beach. They brought out a small table and cooler to continue to serve drinks. By the time we were driving back, everyone was tired. One magical part was the beautiful rainbow that was visible over Nevis.

Recommendations

  1. Bring a hat or swim cover up. We spent a lot, a lot of time in the sun that day.
  2. Drink plenty of water. The drinks were flowing and the sun was shining. Dehydration was also present.
  3. If possible, bring your underwater camera. I am so sad we didn’t get the GoPro until after this because the water was so clear and there were a million fish.
