Langkawi is a tropical paradise located about 30 kilometers off the coast of northwestern Malaysia. It is a popular spot for tourists because of the activities, beaches, and culture. If you are looking for an adventurous activity that is easily accessible, experiencing the SkyBridge should be at the top of your list!

SkyBridge is a 125M long bridge that ranks as the world’s longest suspension bridge with a curve in it. Due to the location, it was lifted into the air by helicopter to be placed in its mountainous location. A unique experience when visiting the bridge is to stand on the section that is a glass floor with a view of the mountains below.

The only way to get to the bridge is by taking a cable car up the side of the mountain. There is then the option of paying for the SkyGlide to take you down to the bridge or walking the short trail. The trail is not long but it does require being comfortable with a lot of stairs.

Website: Panorama Langkawi

Address: Oriental Village, Burau Bay, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia

Hours: Change throughout the year, check the website above.

As previously mentioned, getting to the bridge does require taking the SkyCar which is a cable car. This offers amazing views of the surrounding area and is a fun way to get access to the bridge. There are a variety of options including a 360 open view cab, glass bottom cab, private and VIP cabs. Expect to pay more if you are doing a higher option than the basic cab.

Once you reach the top there is a small area that you can take photos and grab a snack. This section is actually higher up than the bridge so it provides a great 360 view and a view of the bridge from above. It is possible to meet some monkeys along the way here as well. As always, please respect the wildlife and do not feed them or get too close.

Entrance to the bridge itself does have a small fee so you will go to the left upon arrival to get a ticket. We listed the price in the photo below. Please note it may change over time. After taking the stairs or the SkyGlide, you will be on the SkyBridge! Take your time walking back and forth across the bridge to get all the photos you want! Stop on the glass floor for a few photos as well. then head back the way you came to go back to the snack shop area.

When you first pull into the parking lot, you’ll see the area has many different buildings and activity options. These include:

  • SkyRex
  • Oriental Village
  • 6D Cinemotion – SkyDome
  • 3D Art Langkawi
  • Machinchang Petland Langkawi

It is possible to get a bundle price if you are interested in doing multiple things. Check out below for info on the activities we chose to do!

Have you heard of a 6D show? The SkyDome offers exactly that. Upon entering it looks like a movie theater and you are provided with the stylish 3D glasses. Instead of one screen at the bottom of the theater like regular, the screen goes all around the room and ceiling. This makes it feel like you are really in the movie! During our visit they were playing a Christmas themed movie and it felt like riding a rollercoaster as the characters when down slides and through snowstorms.

***Hot Tip – if you get vertigo easily, this may not be ideal for you, especially if you also plan to take the SkyCab cable car.***

Originally this sounded like it would be fun for small children. Since it wasn’t very expensive we decided to include it in the bundle package. It was worth it! After leaving your shoes at the desk, you walk around through multiple large rooms. Each wall has massive murals that look 3D! There’s tons of photo ops and even a few have small props to use. The signs on the floor let you know where to take the photos from and can be helpful for getting the right angle to make it look as real as possible. A tripod and either a clicker or a timer are super helpful if you are looking for group or couple’s photos. My favorite room was the glow in the dark one at the end. Sadly we didn’t get many photos in that one as a school group arrived.

To my understanding there is another area to buy the tickets for the petland. We did not see these tickets when originally purchasing the bundle. We only noticed the animals after getting on the cable car. The animal pens appeared to be small and had a lack of things to do inside with the animals. As we did not experience this hands on, I cannot state whether or not this is an ethical animal encounter. If you have any info on this feel free to let us know and we can add it to this post!

Parking for this area is paid. There are two parking lots and the slightly further away one is cheaper. If you don’t want to walk to the front there is a small train that looks like a London bus that you can pay to ride. The walk is not very far so unless you want the photos it’s not worth it. There is food and beverages at the small cafes, expect slightly higher prices but still affordable for being at an ‘amusement park.’ Most of the activities are inside but the bridge is not. Wear sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses during your visit.

For a great start to your day before your visit to the skybridge, head up the road to Seven Wells Waterfall. It’s around 5 minutes away. We recommend going at sunrise to have the place to yourself. Though this isn’t the best one for swimming, the views are impressive! As you go up the SkyCab, check out the window to see the waterfall from above. Bring dry clothes and arrive right at open to the SkyBridge to avoid crowds at both locations! Check the opening time online ahead of time as it changes throughout the year.
