Singapore has a million fun things to do! When researching it seems a lot of the same places come up over and over. Don’t get me wrong, we loved the Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands. But there is one area that isn’t talked about that should be. This is the best hidden gem in Singapore! Read along to find out the location and our favorite things to do while there.

Explore other parts of Singapore with us!

Haji Lane, running parallel to Arab Street, is located in the Kampong Glam neighborhood. It is the most eclectic area to wander in Singapore. It is easy to find as it is located right by the Sultan Mosque. The area will also come up if you type it directly into Google Maps or use the interactive map below. We loved using Grab and found it to be a cheap and quick option for getting where we needed to go. There is an extensive train system as well that is super easy to use! We recommend buying the multi day pass if you plan to use the train system to save money.

It is highly recommended to go in the afternoon to explore this area. There are tons of cute shops and activities. Restaurants are galore in this area and range from Greek to Mexican to Italian food. Expect to pay a slightly higher price at these restaurants than in other areas. It is possible to do all of your shopping and activities then grab a bite or just stop over for a quick happy hour!

If you are keen to get some cute photos during your visit, this is a great stop! Pop into this fun and unique photo booth. With the power to use a timer or a remote control, you can take your own photos! They offer a variety of lighting, templates, and frames. We love a good insta shot while traveling but this gets into a different and fun vibe. It’s a great way to document that cute outfit with your friends!

Vintage clothing shop in Haji Lane Singapore
Hidden Gem Vintage Clothing in Singapore

I am a sucker for a good vintage clothing shop and this area did not disappoint! Not only were some of the clothes vintage, in multiple shops they had recycled clothes that were turned into adorable pieces that compliment any closet. There are multiple shops so expect to find a few different vibes in each shop. The clothes were a little bit on the pricier side but extremely unique. Plan to leave some space in your luggage to take all these fun items back home! These shops are definitely hidden gems.

A completely free activity includes walking around to check out the street art. This was one of the most fun parts of this road. There are huge murals that are bright and intricate. It ranges from pretty flowers to interesting aliens and creatures. The murals take up entire walls. We aren’t sure how often they get repainted, but it seems the area is often evolving so it’s definitely worth checking out each time you visit Singapore.

Some of the shops in this area have some items that might be harder to transfer home. Our favorites were the lamp shops with a variety of colorful lamps that threw shades of reds, purples, and blues all over the shop. There were also multiple fabric shops and souvenir shops. These are the type where if you’ve visited one, the rest have pretty much the same items. We popped into a few just to explore. Haji Lane is a favorite hidden gem in Singapore!
