The Confusion of Canopy Walks in Malaysia
If you’re like me, you have an entire list of places you want to go and what you will do while there. So many of them include very similar names/similar activities.
In Malaysia and Singapore, there is at least 4 places that all go by some similar name that includes canopy or sky. To sort out the confusion, here are all 4 broken down so you can visit them all!
Forest Eco Park Canopy Walk
In the middle of Kuala Lumpur there is an eco park. It spans over 9.3 hectares and is full of gorgeuous plants and wildlife. One of the parks main attractions is the suspension bridge, or the canopy walk. It’s 21 meters high with railings. Definitely worth a stop and has tons of fun other spots.
Perdana Botanical Gardens Canopy
This one is a little different and had confused me when I was researching things to do. Though this is a canopy walk, it is not in the sky like the others are. This park is also located in Kuala Lumpur.
This park is huge and has a ton of different fun areas to explore. There are treehouses, small rivers and waterfalls, fountains, and tons of gorgeous plants.
- Admission: Free
- Arrive by Grab. There are multiple entrances so make sure you are specific on where you are located.
- Time recommended: 1-2 hours
- Bring water and sun protection. There’s a small shop with ice cream and cold drinks so bring money if you want a treat.
Skyway Gardens by the Bay Singapore
A true favorite, Gardens by the Bay. Not only is there the skyway but there is so much to do in this area! Now technically it is Singapore so not really Malaysia but often gets confused for location so it is getting included.
Gardens by the Bay has the outside skyway in the Supertree Grove. The trees are fun to explore during the day and then watch the free light show in the evening.
Inside the Cloud Forest, a stunning conservatory, there is another high up walkway that is really unique.
- Admission: $14 for adults and $10 for kids
- Parking: not really a thing because everyone walks this area so we recommend planning to walk or take a Grab.
- Time: for just the skyway, 30 minutes. Plan for more time if you plan to do other activities.

SkyBridge in Langkawi
The last skybridge is located on the island of Langkawi. It is a smaller island off of Malaysia. The bridge is the longest curved suspension bridge in the world! You ride a cable car up to the top and can stop along the way at the lower part of the mountain. This bridge has window sections to stand on, if you dare.
The skybridge is located at Panorama Langkawi so there are tons of other things to do. We loved the 3D art area.
- Admission: cost ranges vastly because it is very dependent on if you plan to do other activities and if you are seeking a private cable ride or a glass bottom cable car.
- Parking: Huge parking lot, at the time one area was paid parking and the other was free.
- Time: very dependent on if you plan to do other activities. I’d give at least 2-3 hours to do it all.

Final Thoughts for Canopy Walks in SouthEast Asia
We truly enjoyed all of these. Each one is very unique and worth the stop. We love finding garden spaces in the city so most of these were wonderful breaks from city life in our opinion. If you don’t mind heights and want an adventure, each of these sky walks/canopy walks provides that!
